If you are a Christian wanting to learn more about God's world and how God is at work in it, GlobalChristian.org provides these resources for you to use in your own personal prayer, in a church Sunday school class, or a missions small group. It's our mission at GlobalChristian.org to provide the best possible resources for more Christians to be educated about and involved in the world that God so loved that He sent his only son. Please let us know how we can provide those resources for you.
By examining global topics through the lens of the Bible, GlobalChristian study guides expose Christians to the full complexity of the world that God created, loves, and sustains. The discussion of these issues at a grassroots level will develop a network of Christians who take their responsibility as global citizens seriously, acting out their faith as thoughtful and obedient stewards. This carefully considered stewardship will demonstrate the positive and practical role of Christian faith in building a just and peaceful world. You can view each of the learning guides by topic or download the entire series as one downloadable PDF, which you are free to print and duplicate as long as IGE is acknowledged. More »

We believe that prayer is important. The Bible assures us that when seek God, God will intervene in events, countries, lives, and the course of history. We ask you to pray about the issues you learn about on this site. From war to torture to exploitation to spoiling of creation the prayer requests abound, and the challenge can seem overwhelming. But suffering has a face, and Matthew 25 tells us it is the face of Jesus. In prayer we must identify with the face of individual persons, both those afflicted by global problems and those working hard to bring the light of Christ, the healing of Christ, and the presence of Christ to the darkest edges of the world. Speaking at the Council for Europe on October 9, the president of Turkey, Abdullah Gul, called for changes to a law on "insulting Turkishness" that has damaged Turkey's bid to join the European Union. Known as "Article 301," the law has been used to persecute writers, journalists, scholars, and religious minorities. For example, as reported by Compass Direct, two Turkish converts to Christianity, Hakan Tastan and Turan Topal, are currently on trial for "insulting Turkishness." Others accused under the law have included Turkish Armenian editor Hrant Dink (who in January was murdered by an ultra-nationalist because of his views on the deaths of Armenians at the hands of the Ottoman Turks in 1915), and the Nobel Prize-winning author Orhan Pamuk. Please pray that president Gul's acknowledgement of the need for change in the law helps move Turkey towards full embrace of religious freedom and human rights. (Posted: 29 Oct 07) Details »
